Description: The OSA miner experienced an error for which there is no appropriate message at this time. The error indicators are displayed and a snapdump may have been written to //VTCPSNAP. The OSA miner has failed.
Action: First, verify that the system and the VIP agent are configured properly to retrieve information from the MIB, as follows:
1. If multiple stacks are running on the system where the message is logged, make sure the VIP agent’s member VIPOSA1 is configured properly to use the correct stack name, IP address, and community name.
2. Make sure the TCPIP stack’s PROFILE has SACONFIG without DISABLED specified.
3. Make sure the same SNMP community name is specified in three places:
a) The VIP Agent’s VIPOSA1 member.
b) The stack PROFILE’s SACONFIG statement,
c) The start-up JCL for the SNMPD daemon and IOBSNMP task.
Note: The community name is case sensitive.
4. Make sure the SNMPD daemon and IOBSNMP task are running.
5. Make sure access to MIB objects is not restricted. On USS, check for an etc/snmpd.config file. If one is present, check for VACM_VIEW statements that limit access to the specified MIB object.
If the system and the VIP agent are configured properly, gather the error indicators in message VIP0016 and the member //VTCPSNAP. Send them to SDS Technical Support.
Note: The VIP agent is most likely running with the DD statement for VTCPSNAP commented out. Uncomment the VTCPSNAP DD line, then restart the agent and wait for it to again log VIP1048 and VIPM0016 messages.
